First record of the genus Gyraleosomus Souza-Gonçalves and Lopes-Andrade, (Coleoptera: Ciidae) in Brazil, with the description of a new species.

RESUMO: Gyraleosomus ptesimus sp. n. is described based on specimens from two municipalities in the South Region of Brazil, representing the second species of the genus and the first to be recorded from the country. We provide an identification key for the species of the genus, discuss morphological similarities with other Ciini genera and the possibility that species of Gyraleosomus Souza-Gonçalves and Lopes-Andrade are soil-dwelling.
