RESUMO: Erioscelis emarginata (Mannerheim, 1829) is a Brazilian cyclocephaline beetle that pollinates Araceae. Here, the species is redescribed and a close relative, Erioscelis monnei sp. nov., is newly described from the Serra do Cipó region (Minas Gerais state, Brazil) based on two field expeditions to its type locality. Morphological differences were described mainly for the punctation of the abdomen and elytra, the elytral shape, as well as the male genitalia and the mouthparts. Additionally, an updated identification key for the species of the genus is provided, and a distribution map of E. emarginata is presented for the first time.
